The Redleaf School of Early Learning is a double Licence childcare facility that accommodates 94 young children. The building sites with a Council park to the North and Bushland to the West. Suburban residential properties are located to the far North and East. Car parking and entry is to the south.
The philosophy of the centre was to integrate three educational approaches: The Schools of Reggio Emilia in Italy, Montessori and the traditional classroom. Other philosophies that were embedded at the early stage was the psychology of parents and children and the potential for separation anxiety.
This is an important building both as an educational tool as well as supporting the educational regimes within it. The education of children in an environment that reinforces the potentials of buildings to harness the natural processes around it is ingraining these ideals into the next generation.
