Hear and Say is a world-leading Paediatric Auditory-Verbal and cochlear implant centre. They have been teaching deaf children to listen and speak since 6 July, 1992. Founded by Brisbane Speech Pathologist Dr Dimity Dornan AO, Hear and Say’s name was chosen to emphasise that children living with hearing loss can learn to listen and speak. Our blue butterfly logo is a symbol of the deafness our children overcome, as butterflies can’t hear. Donations to Hear and Say allow babies to hear their very first sounds. With ongoing support, children learn to listen and speak. Their long-term supporters even get to see children attend their first day of school, alongside their siblings and friends. Their donors and fundraisers truly give a gift for life.
Hamilton Hayes Henderson have participated in Loud Shirt Day for the past three years raising a total of $3,500. In 2017 they sold Christmas bells and also gifted them to each staff member with their Christmas presents. Alan Hayes has also volunteered his time at the Varsity Lakes Centre on numerous occasions, painting the walls in the therapy rooms, water blasting the exterior and hanging pictures.
We love the association and we will continue to support and embrace the opportunity to have fun and wear really ‘loud’ shirts for Loud Shirt Day
